I made an 3 page short story interlude called Street Meat to run between chapters of our Weird Luck comic. Read it at the Weird Luck site.
After the 32 page Chapter 3 “Feral City”, which took me most of the year to draw, I needed to do something fun, simple and quick. I also wanted to ink it traditionally, with brush and nib on paper. I “penciled” it digitally, inked it traditionally, then added digital colors.
The story is a simple one, from the point of view of a mutant pigeon, hungry for breakfast. The character’s dialogue refers to the events of previous night in chapter 3. If you look closely you can find two of these characters in the crowd scenes towards the end of the chapter. This is the first Weird Luck story that I wrote myself. The drawing style is loose and sloppy, much like I would have drawn it in the late 90s.
