Secret Chiefs 3: Traditionalists Album Cover
This is an interesting Secret Chiefs 3 release, Le Mani Destre Recise Degli Ultimi Uomini (The Severed Right Hands of the Last Men). It’s a soundtrack for an imaginary movie by the SC3 sub-band “The Traditionalists”. I illustrated the cover based on Trey Spruance’s sketched concept. The main painting was done in oils and colored digitally. The hand with the eye-in-pyramid is my own. The hand on the back, with the RFID chip, is not. It was released by Mimicry Records on CD and Vinyl. The Vinyl was meant to come with a movie poster insert so I made that too. I believe it was only included in the CD however. This was a fun project. The music is marvelously strange. Listen to it here. Currently out of print. I did all of the illustration and design work, credited as butcherBaker.
