I had an illustration included in The Book of Fuligin, a comics tribute to Gene Wolfe, one of my favorite authors. I wanted to make a Conan style Comic Cover for a scene in Sword of the Lictor, my favorite book in the Book of the New Sun series.
This drawing was penciled digitally and inked traditionally, with a bit of digital cleanup.
This is the scene where Severian confronts the giant Baldanders, and finally realizes why he’s been lugging this huge sword across the commonwealth.
